ENGAGEMENT SESSION!!

I had the opportunity recently to do my first engagement session! Thank you Will and Shari! I am amazed that the Lord keeps sending people my way when I least expect it, because I have not been out looking (like I should be). These two were so cute, that they really made these pictures look good. I have to admit that I have grown to liking wedding photography because there is a lot of "action" photography, you know...people are already looking their best and walking around happily in love, dancing and smiling...makes it pretty easy to get some great shots without posing them. So, when it came to engagement, I must admit that I was nervous about "posing" people. I took my hubby and little boy out the day before this shoot to get an idea about a location and to practice. When Shari said that she and Will like "action" shots I thought, Oh no, what am I gonna do, how do I do that? However, these two had some great ideas with them. They brought their wake boards and their tap out shirts, which were both SUPER cute! I love it! It also helped tremendously that they were both SO sweet and easy to work with. I love how tiny Shari is in comparison to Will , he could pick her up so easily! Thank you both so very much for trusting me with your engagement photos, I hope you love them as much as I do!

Love that tiny Shari had Will in a headlock!

my favorite of the day!

dish washers

So, many of you know that my husband and I sold our dream house about a year ago so that I could be home with Carson.....since it's thanksgiving time and all, I have been thinking about how thankful I am that the Lord changed my hubby's heart and allowed our home to sell quickly, what an amazing praise in this market! We are temporarily living in Adams parents tiny condo...whicih is super cute and really meets all of our NEEDS :) It is however missing a few ammeneties that I had grown accostumed to....one being a dishwasher. I thought about it the other day and realized that not having a dishwasher is sorta nice though. You see, there is this amazing little boy who lives with me and he LOVES water, and that includes "washing" the dishes with me. I remember when he was so tiny and cloicky and all I had to do was go into the bathroom and turn on the water and he was immediately calmed:) I remember Adam saying that our water bill was gonna be humoungus! It was bouncing or water back in those days to keep him from fussing and sometimes my legs were just worn out. So the moment he hears the sink (not gonna lie he is usuallly right beside me anyway) he gets his step stool and drags it over to me saying, "I wanna wash dishes Mommy". Sometimes the Lord helps make the most boring tasks "fun" again with the little helpers he blesses us with! Lord, Thank you for my "dishwasher":)

Praise the Lord! I was asked to do my second paid wedding in October and was so excited that another bride trusted me with her special day. The drive to Sylvania was about an hour but gave me plenty of time to think and prepare my heart before the day..Adam and I have talked several times about my prices and until I have been so thankful that my photography and my sewing have been such an amazingly fun and rewarding hobby for me. I absolutely love it and would do it for free, so its been nice to have a little extra income while doing something I love:)My heart with my hobbies is that Christ will use them to give me opportunities...to show His love to others through the way that I treat them, through trying hard to be the best I can at what I do, and through being fair with my prices and helping brides who have a smaller budget to have nice wedding photos. I am amazed at the fact that Michelle, Hannah, and now Kim have trusted me with their weddings and so amazed at how the Lord provides for our family when we could use the extra cash flow...He always knows our needs!

Usually the moment immediately after the ceremony is my favorite moment at a wedding....that moment at this wedding was just a little different. The bride and groom came out and the bride looked over at him and said, "honey, where is my engagement ring, you only put my wedding band on during the ceremony." uh oh! the groom then looked to his dad who searched his pockets for several minutes unable to produce the diamond and then a little search party went our in hopes of finding that ring (talk about getting nervous) and who wants to pose for pictures now? After several minutes the grooms father returned with the ring in hand and gave it over to the relieved bride :)Then we regrouped and took a few after ceremony shots....

Ive been sewing again....

...and I was just wondering if anyone else does there sewing with a two year old in their lap. If he's not in my lap he is climbing on my back, rubbing my arm, or putting his toys all over me and trying his best to get his little hands as close to my machine as possible to see at exactly what point I will redirect him. There have been a few days lately that he has happily played by himself in his room and around the house while I had the freedom to get a few things done! Then I took him to the nursery this past Wednesday (which was a new thing for him)and he cried the entire time, sobbing, runny nose, heaving cries. It was pitiful. He has finally gotten to the point where he actually enjoys his Sunday nursery class and the amazing ladies who care for him in there. It took about 7 weeks of crying but now he just goes right on in, Oh sweet relief ( I can really enjoys the service and not have that little worry about him in the back of my mind). Well, then we thought that we would love to start attending on Wednesday nights and that this past week would be a great week to start since 89 people were getting baptized! That's right 89! isn't that AMAZING ( amazed actually happens to be the name of the series our church has been preaching on right now, pretty fitting i think!)Back to my original point which is that my child seems to have reverted to his clinginess and I am thinking it has a little bit to do with my having left him in a the Wednesday nursery. Oh well, I guess I will be happy with the Sunday nursery for now and hope that he will gain back that little bit of independence he was (we were) enjoying! For now I will remind myself that there will come a day when I will so badly want him to sit in my lap, play toys with me or just stay right under my feet in general. There will be a day that I will wish he would peep his head into the shower every five minutes to "check" on me and continuously open the shower curtain getting water all over the floor and letting the heat out (hmmmmm on second thought maybe I wont miss the whole shower thing). I guess my thought is to make the most of this underfoot child that I have because he will quickly outgrow it.

My Boys

So, there are these two amazing guys in my life.....who love me even when I am hard to love. They are supportive of my love for photography even when it means that I want to take a million pictures of them with my new camera. Thank you for loving me and supporting my hobbies, dear hubby....and Carson, even though you don't have much of a say so little one :)

Willing/Pinuala Wedding

So, I am so amazingly encouraged that the Lord has provided another awesome bride whoe let me have the priveledge of taking her wedding photos. I have loved photography for so long... never thought I would like wedding photography ... to fast paced and too much drama ( I was thinking bridezillas) but to my pleasant surprise, I love it! Perhaps even more than session photography. I love that there is action ( well, you know you have all of the posed shots at first... but when the wedding gets rolling...) I mean people are jsut naturally smiling and hugging one another, and looking their best! It is very tiring but super fun to just follow two people who are so in love and get caught up in their special story. Each couple is so different and thankfully I have been surrounded by brides who are about as laid back as they come, talk about taking the stress off! Anyway, you get the point aout methe real reason for this post is to display some of the shots I got from this beautiful wedding... of one of the happiest couples I have ever seen. Thank you Hannah and Micheal for letting me be a part of your day! Everything was absolutely beautiful and you two were so great to work with! ( Micheal, thanks for making funny faces at the camera when things got a little slow....and Hannah, thanks for holding the chair so I didnt fall twice :).. yep I fell outta the chair... backwards too....and only by the grace of God did I land on my feet...... He knows how to keep me humble when I need it...and falling out of a chair at a wedding in teh middle of the garter toss is pretty humbling :) So I am thankful for His providence in so many ways. Now... on to the pictures already!
The groom was this happy and calm all day.... seriously, I was amazed!

I am convinced that one of the best blessings a girl can have is a lifelong friend....
Hannah is super lucky, she has two!

This was the brides idea... and I love it, and most definately plan to use it in the future!
Hannah requested that I get the grooms picture as she came down the isle, instead of the traditional photo of her and her dad. I think this is the epitome of what a groom should look like when he sees his bride... makes it all worth the wait!

And well, she looked pretty happy herself!

you know this makes you smile!

One of my favorites!

sweetness!

so maybe a little tad of me still loves taking pics of children :)
luckily there were lots of cute ones around!

This is always one of my favorite pictures... I think it is so romantic! Maybe I am just a little girly

The End!
